DO YOU NEED A HEAVIER DUTY HOSE
OR HAVE A WARRANTY ISSUE…...Read this
Our hose options on the previous pages are satisfactory for most pressure
cleaner users, however there are some specific applications or heavier
duty users that need a better solution.
Some definitions:
* Non Skived Hose (ie R2AT)
Current technology, weighs less, thinner outer cover
* Skived Hose (ie R2A)
Older technology, outer cover twice the size of Non Skived, much heavier
* Super Tuff Hose
Mining grade with smooth polyethylene cover. Super Tuff has:
-Excellent abrasion resistance
-Resistance to chemical agents
-Resistance to impact damage ie car wheels
-UV resistance, increasing age
-Non absorbing for underwater applications
The disadvantage Skived Hose is increased weight, hose stiffness and
higher price. Supertuff is lighter and more flexible, but more expensive
Our recommendation:
A lot of damage to the hose occurs from a) dragging the hose near the
gun/operator & b) chemical damage such as acid used by brick cleaners.
To reduce this, we recommend using (say) 10 meters of Super Tuff as a
whip hose starting from the gun. After the 10 meters, attach a standard
hose so you still get the advantages of a standard hose.
Damage may occur further down the hose, towards the machine itself. This
is usually caused from c) running over the hose which damages the wire
braid inside and results in the hose ballooning from the inside out and d)
the hose more generally being dragged around abrasive areas. The best
way to treat these 2 common requests for warranty is to look after your
hose. If this is not possible, a less satisfactory solution is to use a skived
hose as explained above. Remember there are a number of disadvantages
to this option.
